There's not much to say. Brook Benton's "Rainy Night in Georgia" is special. I don't know when I first heard it. Probably as a child growing up in the south (SC). My sister (8 year older than little brother me) loved music as did her friends. A record player or the radio was always on. Radio ruled. Maybe it was our black radio station where I first heard him and his song(s). But I never forgot. The uniqueness of this song (sad, heartfelt) and his voice (singing and talking to you). I'm certain I didn't get all that when I was a teenager but the voice and the music, I got. Oh, I listen to current music and my time period was the seventies. But oldies, real oldies, will always have a special place in my mind and heart. Oh shucks, man, I'm tearing up a little remembering simpler times.. .
