Personally i enjoyed this film,at first i was apprehensive about it because i just assumed the film would be an insult to the original trilogy. The first thing that caught my attention was the dance scene with Shannon Elizabeth & Bobbi Sue Luther and Type O Negative was playing(i have always thought that the original 3 should have had a dance/trance sequence with Type O as the themed music) so i instantly thought awesome. But the movie starts in Louisiana with 1 lady running from the demons and ties a rope around herself and jumps from the building. Then fast forward to modern day where Shannon Elizabeth has planned a party at the Broussard Mansion. They start to throw a party at the mansion and Edward Furlongs character is in debt to a dealer,so he is sent to the mansion to make some money. The girl at the door does not want to let him in til' he tosses her extra cash,soon the cops come and shut the party down. The girl with the cash runs away and the cops tell everyone to evacuate. After the cops leave there is just a select group of people that stay to have fun,7 of them. The kids come back and decide to party,Furlong is looking for what he dropped down a ventelation shaft. So they decide to go to the basement and they find the bones of the victims from the beginning of the movie. Shannon Elizabeth gets bit by a skeleton and turns into a demon. She has a dance with Bobbi Sue Luther and turns her into a demon,then 1 by 1 they all fall victim to the evils in the mansion. The 1 girl used to date the guy(Furlong) and she still has feelings for him. The girl soon realizes that the book she finds tells the story of the party that took place,she was trying to raise the spirit of her husband. The girl was tricked by demons to bring guests for the demons too posess,she being the only 1 left had to take her life to save the world from h*ll on earth. So they decide to fight back and eventually the only one left is the giel who used to date Furlong. The movie is really decent i really thought it would suck but i was really surprised i enjoyed it. The gore factor was there,the story was there just tweaked a bit from the original. The movie has the same styles of gore and lots of cool creature gore. The creatures,or demons were really nicely done. There was a good soundtrack with alot of metal(Goatwhore a New Orleans band) and Type O as well as the other usual Halloween music. Alot of cool stuff going on here,if you enjoy the original you will enjoy this. Great cast and good acting.
